PhD Research Scholarships

CEPMLP is delighted to announce the creation of one or more research scholarships to support candidates reading for the degree of PhD. The scholarships will be available for three years (subject to performance) and will cover fees and provide a stipend of £9,000 per annum (£750 per month) towards living expenses. Successful candidates will have access to all the resources of the PhD programme, including limited support for travel. Applications will be welcome in any area of current research interest to the Centre (see CEPMLP's Research section of the website for further information on current research topics)

Applicants should complete an application form for admission as a research student to the University of Dundee indicating on the form that they are applying to CEPMLP as their academic department and indicating on the finance section of the form that they are applying for a CEPMLP scholarship. They should also include a 5-10 page summary of their research proposal, covering the research question, relevance, methodology to be applied and originality. Applications must be received by 31st March 2008 and a decision will be made by 1st May 2008 with the successful candidate(s) expected to take up the scholarship from September 2008.

Applicants are expected to hold a Masters Degree in any relevant discipline. Applicants with a background in law, economics, international relations, geology or engineering are especially welcome.
