Eur.Ing. COLIN ROBERTS LL.M (Resources Law & Policy), P.G.Dip.ICA, B.Eng (Mining Engineering), P.Eng, C.Eng, C.Pet.Eng, C.Sci, FIMMM, FEI, FSAIMM, MCIArb, MAusIMM, MCIM, MIEAust, MEIZ, SPE, SME, has an excess of 30 years of Multi-disciplinary Resource Industry Experience.
Mr Roberts is a Senior Teaching and Research Fellow on the Global Faculty at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee. He is also a partner and Group General Manager of RSG Global; a Director of Baraka Petroleum Ltd, the Past President of the Mining Institute of Scotland (IMMM); Director of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Past Director of the Scottish Oil Club (Edinburgh).
Mr Roberts is a Chartered Petroleum Engineer, Chartered Professional Mining Engineer, Chartered Scientist and an accredited International Mediator/Arbitrator/Lawyer with specialisations in the fields of Resources Law and Policy, International Commercial and Investment Arbitration and International Trade Law. Subsequent to military service, Mr Roberts has accumulated vast experience in major construction, resource drilling and production. He has held operational, managerial and executive positions negotiating and directing major projects throughout the Australia-Pacific Region, the Middle East, South Eastern and North Eastern Asia and six years as Managing Director and General Manager of a major Resources Services Company throughout Southern, Eastern and Western Africa.
Mr Roberts’ expertise lies in the areas of: Natural Resource Exploration and Exploitation; Major Infrastructure Project Development; Dispute Resolution; International Commercial and Investment Arbitration; Foreign Direct Investment in the Developing World; and International Trade and Investment Law. He has published extensively in his fields of interest.
Additional affiliations include professional registration at the London Court of International Arbitration and professional memberships to the: International Bar Association: Section on Energy, Environmental, Natural Resources & Infrastructure Law; the Australian Mining & Petroleum Law Association; the Human Rights Institute and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
