Melaku Geboye Desta (sole author), The Law of International Trade in Agricultural Products: From GATT 1947 to the WTO Agreement on Agriculture (Kluwer, 2002), pp. 488.
The book has been warmly welcomed by lawyers, academics as well as trade diplomats. An excellent book review written by Bernard O'Connor, the leading Brussels-based international agricultural trade lawyer, has just been published in the Journal of International Economic Law (Volume 6, Issue 2, July 2003). O'Connor says:
"The book sets a standard by which all other writing on the Agreement on Agriculture, including the writings of WTO panels and the Appellate Body, must be judged. It introduces the beautiful craft of expert legal analysis to the world of international agricultural trade regulation, an area which up to now has been the exclusive domain of economists and trade negotiators." -
